PREGAME

11am – 1pm

We’ll start gathering under the Bloomfield Bridge at 11am on Saturday, October 24th. Free lunch will be provided by Steel City Food Not Bombs. There will be plenty of hand sanitizer and a hand washing station. The Socialist Rifle Association, The Big Idea Cooperative Bookstore, Filler Distro, Pittsburgh National Lawyers Guild, and others will be chilling too. There will also be bike mechanics and bike pumps present.

Got something to share? Run a distro? Feel free to bring a table and set up, no permission required so long as you follow basic COVID health precautions. (Please note that reactionaries are not welcome).

If you registered online, be sure to sign in at the registration table. If you did not register ahead of time, you have until 1pm to sign up. Registration just means giving a name, declaring fixie or geared bike, getting a spoke card, entering in the costume contest (if ya want), and donating $5 to $25 to Jordan’s legal defense fund. To register ahead of time, send an email with the above details and a screenshot of your donation to Jordan’s legal defense fund to acab412@protonmail.com

THE ALLEY CAT

1pm – 5pm

At 1pm, participants will lay their bikes on the ground by the baseball field fence and line up (six feet apart!). Once everyone’s lined up, the manifest will be distributed. (The manifest is a map with all of the checkpoints marked on it). Participants will then have a few minutes to plan their route.

Pittsburgh was built with virtually no city planning; the slums just sprawled out around the factories. The near-total absence of a street grid, the maze of one-ways and bridges, those staircases they can’t chase you down – our city is a marauder’s dream. This race is about familiarizing ourselves with all the shortcuts, hideaways, and escape routes Pittsburgh has to offer. May the sketchiest cyclists win.

FINISH

5PM – Whenever

ACAB ends at 5pm – make sure you get back to the Bloomfield Bridge in time, even if you didn’t reach all the checkpoints! After the prize for DFL (dead fucking last) is awarded, it’s costume contest time! We’re still working out the logistics of this part…

Food Not Bombs will maybe have dinner for us too? Love them.
